Design is very important to a website. The design and feel of a website can deter or attract to a site. There are times that I go to a site and will immediately leave the site because the design is so bad. There are also other times when I find myself searching around on a site because the design is so engaging. Your design should be done with your target market in mind. The site is ultimately for them.

These designs have stood up well over time, this article was posted in 2006 yet and the technologies have since changed entirely. This goes to show that a quality design will provide a longer lifespan than not.
